Hugh Price: Latimer supervised the installation of lights at major buildings in New York, Montreal, and elsewhere. He ran a business in London, so he was one of the early African-Americans operating in the international business sphere.
Ran Yan: Our mission at the museum, first and foremost, is to preserve and promote Lewis Latimer’s historic legacy.

Hugh Price is a former president of the National Urban League. His great-grandmother was the sister of Lewis Latimer, the African American co-founder of the electricity industry.

Ran Yan is executive director of the Lewis Latimer House Museum.
